KLM Bus from CDG to Paris??

If the KLM bus does go from CDG to the door of your hotel in Paris, why don't we know more about it? It sounds perfect. Jim Rosenberg, please tell us more.

The KLM buses between the airport and the major hotels are in Amsterdam, not in Paris!

Again you are wrong Sjoerd. I know you think the world revolves around Amsterdam and Holland, but a Jim Rosenberg has mentioned that there is a KLM bus from CDG to Paris. We would like to know more about it.

I took the KLM bus last year from CDG directly to our hotel. There were 3 or 4 other people on the van, and we were one of the last stops. However, it was nice to be dropped off right at the door of our hotel! The counter is near the larger Air France bus -- it doesn't appear to be super official or organized when you approach it, but it is a good, reasonably priced service.

So Jackie, what is your problem? Yes, I was wrong in this case, but your "again" is definitely rude and untrue.

We took the KLM van last May. Had to wait approx. 30 min. for it but it was about $10, less than A.F. bus and let us right in front of our hotel [which was in St. Germain so we has to let off 3 sets of passengers along the way.]Didn't use it going back to CDG as we had early flight. Driver drove a bit too fast for my taste.

Daphne:<BR><BR>Are you sure it was "about $10 less than the A.F. bus"? Last time I took the AF bus (admittedly 2-3 years ago),I seem to recall it was 55 francs, which was less than $10.<BR><BR>Thanks all for the info on the KLM bus - I hadn't known about it.

I believe there is a comma after the $10, which makes it accurate: "It was about $10, less than the AF bus"<BR><BR>Last time I took AF bus it was about $12, but USD was low at that time.

It looks like you're getting some insight from folks here, so I thank them. <BR><BR>I haven't had contact with the KLM bus since the Euro conversion, but it was 90 FF before that. At that time, passengers picked it up outside of Gate 26 of Terminal 1 -- but you can ask at a KLM ticket counter for the most current info. <BR><BR>I've also used the Air France bus and I'm thinking that was 65 FF before the conversion. I just hopped off at the arch and jumped on the Metro from there. Since the conversion, I've taken the RER from CDG when traveling alone and a cab when I had company. The RER is 7.60 Euros, but I don't recommend it for people with a lot of luggage and if you have two or more people, a cab is a small luxury after a long flight. (With three people, you're on par with the KLM bus on a per-head basis.) I tend to take relatively short trips without checked baggage, so the RER works for me. <BR><BR>Happy Contrails!

It just occurred to me that the references to FF above might not be really too helpful to people who didn't use them much. To convert to U.S. dollars, divide the above "FF" figures by 7 for a ballpark figure in U.S. dollars. So the 65 FF comes out to less than $10 and the 90 comes out to less than $13. (That's likely overstating the U.S. cost somewhat, based on the current exchange rate of U.S. dollars for Euros -- but it gives you an idea.) The RER is about $7 U.S.
