Just arriving to Lisbon

We are arriving in Lisbon Wednesday at about noon. We plan to drop our luggage at the hotel and take off to see the city!!
I am curious, what would you suggest should be the the very first place to visit? We are open to all suggestions!!!! We'll be tired, but not ready to call it a day! Thanks!!

Here is our first day in Lisbon last September. We got to our hotel at just about the same time you will. Link below with photos. Have fun, you'll love Portugal.

Madrid, like San Francisco, can test a visitor's stamina with its hills. You could prepare by familiarizing yourself with public transit, in case your jet-fatigued legs wear out that first afternoon. Or anytime, for that matter.

Yes, get ready for all the hills!
Lisbon is a wonderful city with many interesting neighborhoods to explore. Visit the Tile Museum, a must see! Wonderful.
Have dinner outdoors at Pinóquio.

Apologies to the Forum. I mixed up my Iberian cities and it is Lisbon that can tax the legs; Madrid is an easier stroll.

take the 28 street car from end to end

or take a ride up the Eiffel elevator and take the stairs to the top of the platform for a view of Lisbon

or just walkd from the Rossio to the Praça de Commercio

Fantastic

Tom, you did an amazing job on your blog of Lisbon and Porto. I'll be going in September so I took plenty of notes. What camera did you use?
