Julian Alps/where to stay?
We're a family of 4, traveling to Central Europe in May & June. We find ourselves with an extra night in our itinerary in the Julian Alps (between stops in Lake Bled & Goriska Brda). I'm looking for accommodations appropriate for a family (i.e., not Hisa Franko, since it appears they just have double rooms). I enquired about a tourist farm apartment and was quoted a rate of 330E for half board for one night (!). We'd like to stay someplace nice in a pretty area, preferably near hiking opportunities. Any ideas out there? I'd appreciate any info you can pass along. Thanks.

Topping. I am also looking for something in Kobarid or Bovac in early May for 2 persons. Something under 70 euros per night. Can't seem to find much info.
Please help.
Suffrock - have you found anything?

We ended up booking the Kranjc tourist farm in Trenta. We decided to stay here because the entrance to Triglav National Park is in Trenta and it looks like a beautiful area. http://www.turizem-kranjc.si/en/index.html.
We reserved the Krasji Vrh room for our family. It's a four apple tourist farm (highest designation). The family is very responsive with email.

Thanks Suffrock. The Kranjc tourist farm is EXACTLY what we were looking at. But... are you sure it is in Trenta??
Their web site says they are 6 km from KOBARID, not Trenta.
I have contacted them and requested a superior room (wanted the western mountain view) but they could
only give me a standard double. (guess they save the bigger rooms for families). Are you taking the half-board?? We want to stay only 1 night so must pay a 20 % supplement.

Oops! You're right. I was looking at the wrong row of my itinerary. We're in Trenta the day before. We have to pay the 20% surcharge for one night's stay, but they're giving us a discount for the kids. We're doing half board. This is our only tourist farm visit on our trip, so I kind of wanted to experience dining there. If you stay at Kranjc, be sure to let us know how it is. We're there in early June.

Heard again from Kranjc Tourist Farm. We will have the Samagrad (spelling?) room that faces the western mountains! It is a superior room and I am most pleased. We will also take half board - I have special diet requirements and they can accommodate me. Yea! Will try to post our experience when we return May 15.
