Trust me - nobody in Europe will be paying any attention to your jewelry EXCEPT the people who you don't want to - i.e., those who would like to relieve you of it. Wise decision to heed the advice, and leave it at home.

Agree - that this is not advice because you're going to Paris. This is just normal behavior for travel anywhere.

And frankly, I wouldn't even ride on the subway wearing all of the jewelry you're talking about - just asking for someone to follow you and grab something.

It's like wearing furs in public - just asking for all sorts of trouble.

I noticed that Parisians consider less to be more. On our second trip i took one bracelet and two pairs earrings for ten days. Scarves seem to be the choice fashion statement.
