Itinerary with hotels, plz give your suggestions.
Since discovering this forum a few weeks ago my day is not complete unless I come and read all the comments been made that day. I have learnt so much here and will always be thankful for the help I get.
In a previous threat I posted my itinerary and now I have decided on the hotels to go with it. They are as follows
BR>1- London (5 nights) - Hilton Park Lane or hilton mews.
2- Rome (4 nights)- De la ville Intercon.
3- Venice (3 nights)- Metropole
4- Vienna (4 nights)- Bristol hotel
5- London (4 nights for shopping)- Mandarin Oriental hotel.

How does it look? If you know of better hotels Iam more than happy to listen and do more research

I'm not sure why you would couple London w/Rome, Venice , Vienna. You are going to spend a lot of time traveling to say the least. I would encourage you (if London is your base) to perhaps do London, Amsterdam, Paris maybe ?? + 9 days in London is excessive. There is much to see outside the city which is would be my preferred places to explore anyway. How are you getting around to all the locations ?? It would seem that money is no object either, based on the hotels you have chosen. Also a waste in my opinion as you are rarely there except to sleep. What is the purpose of the trip ?? I may have responded prior but I could could have a much better trip for twice as long for less than half of what you are going to spend. To each his own. Have you been to Europe before ?? I would guess not based on your 'hopscotch' itinerary. The not so nice posters are sure to follow, be prepared.

SA,
I actually go to switzerland and England every year so to answer you question YES i have been to Europe before. I have also been to France, Spain, Netherland and Belguim. I didnt enjoy Spain and France as much as the other countries.
As for hotels I guess comfort and loction are very important to me. I like to splurge on nice hotel after a long day sightseeing. Do you have better suggestions for hotels?
My transportation is the following_
London to Rome by air
Rome to Venice by rail
Venice to Vienna by overnight train
Vienna to London by air.

Although it is a lot of travel - it sounds like a great trip. I loved Rome, Venice, and Vienna (Vienna was done in a different trip). I am going to London in January and am excited abou that.

Also - if you haven't done the overnight train before - it was great fun! We did it from Amsterdam to Vienna, and it was a novelty for me, and I thought it was a great way to travel. I even managed to sleep a little! Have a great time.

SA - if you had read Lindsey's first thread you would not have been so rude. She put a lot of thought into her itinerary and it does make sense. This thread simply adds the hotel names.

Lindsay - I am only familiar with your London and Vienna hotels - and they are all great.

I Have stayed at the Metropole in Venice and LOVED it. All I can add say is to just tell you to get a canal view. I have also stayed in the Bristol and thought it was so luxurious. DUring my stay there for 5 days I felt like I was a princess. I have not stayed at the Mandarin Oriental but I have heard so many positive comments. I am topping this to see if you can get more help.
