Hi Vishal768,
Daytrips to where?
I recommend that you don't book tours to the mountaintops ahead of time. A trip to a mountaintop requires clear weather, or you'll spend a lot of money to stand inside of a cloud. And forecasts for the mountains are totally unreliable until 12 hours or 24 hours in advance. So, it's a bad idea to book a tour in advance to a mountaintop, and you'll be locked in even if it's cloudy or rainy.
The best thing to do is to wait until you wake up one day, and if the mountain you want to see is clear, then you head up there immediately. Unfortunately, the mountains are pretty far from Geneva (aside from the French Alps which are still 2h away), so even if it's clear when you leave Geneva, there's a very good chance they mountaintops will be cloudy when you arrive.
So, aside from the mountain excursions, which trips do you want to take? It's awfully easy to do this on your own -- you only need to check the Swiss rail site (www.sbb.ch) to look at the train/bus schedules!

Hi,
Yes, these are quite easy to do on your own. You can find the train schedules at the Swiss train site
www.sbb.ch
and just change the language to English. You would be looking for:
From: Geneva
To: Lausanne
and
From: Geneva
To: Montreux
and
From: Geneva
To: Gruyeres
Lausanne:
Here's a website that will help you plan the day in Lausanne:
http://www.lausanne-tourisme.ch/en/l...xcursions.html
You can either sign up for a local tour, or you can take a look at their "Themed Stroll" to do on your own.
Montreux:
At Montreux, just exit the train station, walk across the street, and descend the stairs. Cross that main street and walk to the lake, and turn left. Walk along the flowered lakeside promenade for 45 minutes, and you'll be at Chillon. You can get an audio tour for castle. Afterwards, you can either take a ferry boat or bus #21 to the town of Vevey. Get lost in its tangled streets and walk along the lake; look for the statue of Charlie Chaplin and also for the fork in the lake. Then return to Geneva by train.
Gruyeres/Cailler:
To do Gruyeres and Cailler on your own, I gave you instructions above. Here they are again:
Just take the train from Geneva to Montreux, then hop on any train going to Gruyeres (if you want to catch one of the restored cars, they are indicated on the SBB). This trip takes about 2h from Geneva.
See Gruyeres and the cheese dairy and the sweet village at the top of the hill. Have lunch at Gruyeres. Then take the train to Broc-Fabrique and see the chocolate factory Cailler. Here's the information for that:
http://cailler.ch/en/maison-cailler/visit-us/tarifs/
After seeing Cailler, just take the train back to Montreux.
If you want to take your child to the peaks, you probably should consult your pediatrician and tell him/her exactly how high the peak you'll be visiting is. That's the only person who will be able to let you know if you little one might have respiratory or heart problems at the top.
Have fun as you plan!

Sorry, correcton:
The bus from Chillon to Vevey is #201, not #21.
Sorry, I've never been to Chamonix, but here is a link to the bus schedule for service between Geneva and Chamonix:

The Alpine experience at Chamonix is IME of being there several times as awesome as any place in the Alps - OP may want to go there for a few-day stay to do it justice - to take the train up Mont Blanc and to do the Aguille to Heilbronner (spellings?) cable cars over a sea of ice - and to hike to glaciers, etc - not a place for a day trip where you spend a few hours each way getting to Chamonix then having to get out to those amazing places and experiences.

Dear All,
Sorry for writing late..Thanks to your information and assistance I had very nice Geneva trip although very short one..Special thanks to PalenQ swandav2000 sassy27..As I had less time I booked day trips and visited Geneva city in evening the below was the itinerary
Day 1 afternoon reached Geneva- evening visited beautifull garden at Place de Neuve.
Day 2- Sigh seeing trip to Mont Blanc as our daughter was less than 2 years I and my wife went one by one at top and enjoyed the sight of Alp mountain. The major attraction was Void a glass compartment suspending at Mountain.
In afternoon took train from Montevers station to Mer De Glace beautifull sight seeing on the way. There are Ice caves also where they take by Gondola and some 400 steps from Gondola.
Day 3 Visit to beautifull town of Luassane - major attraction were visit on foot to old town, Church and Lake view..Olympics Head quarter and Lake Promenade.
After Luassane we went to Montreux Harbour from where we took ferry to castle de Chillon..nice old castle which takes almost 1 hour to visit. Back to Montreux for visit on lake side quite a great view...
Evening visited United Nations head quarter.
Day 4 Visit to Caillers Chocolate factory it has very nice exhibition with light and sound effects, chocolate tasting till you drop and they show chocolate manufacturing from glass and you can taste the ingredients. You can buy nice chocolates from thier counter at exit. After Chocolate factory we visited cheese making unit where we had some cheese and prepared dish Fondue ourselves the location was into mountains and was lush green. The next stop was village Gruyere a nice village at top of mountain with a Castle which we didnt visited..The village is small but has good flowers at display everywhere and small hotels..
After Gruyere we were taken to station Montboven from where we boarded Golden panorama train for 45 min ride to Montreux..very nice scenaries on the way.
Evening we saw Jet at Lake of Geneva and had nice stroll on lake side where lots of shops selling many kind of foods and also ferris wheel and other attractions for childrens were there.
Day 5 morning we visited Baby beach a small beach side in Geneva..They have made good seating arrangement as the weather was rainy there were no crowd.
The most liked thing is local transport at Geneva which was excellent and with pass from hotel it is free and very convenient to use...
Thanks again all for guiding me and helping me have a clear plan...
Keep doing good work guys...

It sounds like you had a wonderful time. I also want to thank you for posting back on your itinerary. It is helpful to know what you did and enjoyed. You might not know how many other people you will help in the future so thank you.

Your itinerary looks good to me...Can you guide me on how did you book your rail tickets/hotel etc..Did you book day trips or explored on your own?
Can someone suggest if going to Glacier 3000 is possible from Geneva, if yes what's the best possible route?
Thanks!
