Italy Honeymoon: June vs. Sept?

Hello,

We are trying to choose a date for our wedding and subsequent honeymoon to Italy. Our options are approximately June 12-26 or Sept 4-18, and we may be able to stay an additional week in either case. June may be a bit more convenient for us for various work and family reasons, but are also able to do Sept if it would make for a better trip. We haven't done much research on where we want to visit, but do hope to see Rome, Venice and spend some time on the coast.

I appreciate any input you may have! Thank you.

Hi suz, well weather wise probably June is the best especially in Venice although with weather patterns changing so much I don't think anyone can say for sure.

In Venice and Veneto (the region Venice is in) somewhere around the middle of September it seems to get horrific electrical storms. They are fantastic however, Mother Nature's fireworks!

In the opinion of all my friends that live in the region of Venteo June in the best month weather wise.

Rome and the coast should be fine in either month. Just avoid July and August IMHO. And do have a beautiful honeymoon, you can not help but have one if you are going to Italy.

We've been to Italy in September and it has been hotter and more humid that when we've been there in August. And then in the Lake District it turned cold and rainy in mid September. This year we were in Italy from May 27 to June 26 and we couldn't have enjoyed the weather more -- from Ischia to Rome to Venice! Tuscany was already hot but pleasant enough. I say go in June.

Another vote for June - it usually hasn;t reached the peak of heat yet, the flowers are charming - and the days - and romantic evenings - are longer.

Thank you so much everyone! We were hoping for June and are so glad you've confirmed it. Especially the extra sunlight part- we hadn't even thought of that before, but what an important factor. I look forward to developing our itinerary, and see that I already have plenty of resources here searching the boards. Thanks again!
