paris airport hotel

I am looking for a reasonable hotel either near or at the Charles de Gaulle airport in Paris, for one night. The ones I've checked are very expensive. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

What's your definition of very expensive? There is a wide variety of hotels at CDG from very budget to expensive. There is an Ibis there which is a budget 2* hotel, you might look at that, it's not very expensive by most standards. Be careful as there are a couple Ibis around CDG and one is right on site and another a bit farther away. The Novotel is a midrange hotel, but not that expensive. You probably won't find extremely cheap hotels right at the airport. I would go for convenience and choose a hotel on-site (like the Ibis).

Aster, type CDG hotel and/or Charles de Gaulle hotel and/or Paris airport hotel (three separate searches), and many, many messages from the archives on this subject will appear on the left-hand side of your screen. Scroll through them and read at your leisure.

Uh-oh, I left out a critical piece of info. Type those searches into the "Search this Forum" box at the top of your page, then press "Find."

Welcome to Fodor's.

aster, here's a seconf recommendation for the CDG Ibis. It is decidedly not posh, but accommodations are quite serviceable and clean, and there is a restaurant, lounge and airport shuttle. We have used it a few times when we had an early AM flight.

One to avoid: the Holiday Inn. Dirty, poorly maintained.
