Isolated Scottish luxury

i’m thrilled and can’t believe that I’ve missed this.

https://eileanshona.com/eilean-shona-house

Last year was my wife’s 50th birthday and we decided to stay in Marrakech for 4 nights, there are hundreds of Riad hotels, this one stood out a mile in terms of our taste.

https://el-fenn.com/

Not flashy just very confident, under stated style. The hotel is owned by Vanessa Branson (sister to a Richard Branson).

The island in Scotland is also owned by Vanessa Branson, has cottages which are equally stylish. However, it is extremely isolated and not ideal to get to. On the plus side, Ardnamurchan is my favourite place in Scotland, lots of wildlife and few visitors, stunning countryside, coasts and beaches.

I am booking a cottage for later this summer.

Don't tell everyone about Ardnamurchan and Sunart - they will all want to go there, and it will become like Skye and the NC500!
It does look a fab place to stay, though I would probably go bnkers after a few days.

We had a couple of soggy days in the camper on Sunart which can't compare .

1 copy English Patient , Michael Ondaatje

1 copy of The Quran , understand and enjoy
A dart board and two photographs , one of Trump, the other of Boris
Lots of Scottish Raspberries
Bunch of white lilies

No iPad

thats one week of your life sorted out.

64 countries and one of my best days was snorkelling with seals at 7am, Sanna Beach then watching Orca off the beach in 26oC that same afternoon, two years ago.

Yes Hets.

Skye is old news.

Ardnamurchan is the place, but don’t worry most people will not put the effort in to ruin it!

God help us.

I’ve looked at our diary, Summer is out. Autumn half term is out.

We are booking NYE week.

Lunacy.

Unpack the wine and beer, pack more single malt.

Ah well, at least we will get peace and quiet.

It could be truly wonderful, or total lunacy. Hopefully wonderful. I shall expect a report back in the new year if you aren't taken off in a staight jacket.

I’ve sailed in January but never in snow.

I've driven in January in 15ft snow drifts (lots).

Never driven and sailed in snow with enough food for a week. What the heck, life begins at 50!

The other option is to go back to El Fenn in Marrakesh!

Or maybe you'll get some reverse waterfalls.

My wife’s gone out, I think I’ll drink some more wine, book NYE .....and surprise her!

Looks absolutely fabulous to me. It’s getting there that would make it difficult for me. Agree with hetismij2 , try to keep it quiet. Once I thought Skye wouldn’t be affected by tourists. It has and the same with the 500. So few places left IMO and I’m keeping those to myself.

I love Ardnamurchan - most I've been able to stay was 2 nights at Glenuig which I loved. Those cottages look great.

>>Or maybe you'll get some reverse waterfalls.<<

Now, THAT is some kinda wind. Been on Mull 4 times and thankfully never saw conditions like that!

Oh dear Eilean Shona went down like a lead balloon, something to do with a RIB transfer on 28th December. Some people have no idea of adventure!

We are going to book a house in Port Appin but definitely booking Eilean Shona for next summer.

Ah shame! No sense of adventure some people .
Less chance of needing a straight jacket in Port Appin. Just watch out for the knights who say ni . Aaaaarrrrrrggghhh!
