Depends on which part of Mexico you want to compare it to-resorts or little villages. overall I would say Turkey is a bargain. I spent around $25/night for hotels outside of Istanbul and $60 in Istanbul-that was for a single room. I stayed at comfortable but fairly basic places. Does that help?

I've travelled a fair amount in Mexico and prices have risen there the last few years. I've only been to Turkey once (September 2000) and just for a week, but we did find it less expensive than many areas of Mexico. Mind you, coming from Canada, the airfare is much more expensive to go to Turkey, so maybe it balances out.
