My wife goes a wee bit bonkers too before some of our trips - especially the ones where she is group leader for a big group of high school kids. She once ended-up in the hospital a few days before departure complaining of chest and stomach pains. After two days of enforced rest she was fine and the trip went without a hitch. She still denies it but the doctor and I agree it was stress and anxiety.

Three days before a school trip to Fiji/Australia/New Zealand she started feeling a tingling sensation on her face. The emergency room initially assumed a stroke, but later diagnosed it as Bell's Palsy. Not a pleasant experience but not one that deterred her from making the trip.

And just prior to yet another excursion she was running around like a chicken with its head cut off. Trying to do to much in a short span of time she fell down a couple of steps at home and thought she broke her foot. Once again the friendly folks at the emergency room fixed her up and she was able to take the trip on a badly bruised foot.

Now it's become a joke in our family. "What will Mom come down with for the next trip?"

Of course, I need to keep my mouth shut too because on our last trip I bruised my driving heel two days before our two week auto excursion through Central Europe. And the year before that I (the driver again) caught one of the worst colds or flus I've ever had. I couldn't lay down to sleep at night because of the gunk in my throat choking me. I couldn't take any strong meds because of my duties as chauffeur. It was a truly miserable experience which led to full-blown bronchitis once we got home.

isn't travel relaxing?

Cool your jets, Martiee. (No pun intended) many OF US GET A LITTLE NUTTY BEFORE DEPARTURE DAY! As long as you have receipts for ticket purchase, they have to take you. If not within 24 hrs, they might give you free tix so you can do this again next month!
I'll go if you can't handle the stress!

Seriously, my dear, this will alL work out. I do recommend being on the phone with AF if they have said they don't have any info on you.

Bonne chance! And Bon Voyage!

Wow...and I thought I was bad. I can't make a decision, and any decision I make is all over the place.

Here's what I'm going to recommend to you, since I'm doing it myself. Take a nap. Ira's right. Get a glass of wine and sip. Relax.

Pack what's appropriate, you don't need your closet in your luggage. Packing is usually the least of my worries.

As for your seats, check in early to ensure that you don't get bumped involuntarily. Be nice to the ticketing agent who can help you find seats next to each other.

I'm glad we're having an event here at work today. I'm about to go get a glass of wine and relax.

Enjoy your trip. Where are you going?
