J62 I agree ~ I cannot live without Google in any form. I have been emailing some of the apartments and getting an exact address so that I can look it up on Google maps, especially the satellite and street views. VERY helpful!

If you are looking for quiet you might look at apartments on or near Via Guilia. We stayed on a very quiet lane (Orbitelli)that is off that street at the end near the bridge over the the river. Although there was NO traffic and few pedestrians, we were close enough to walk most places we wanted to go, and transportation was easy. It was a lovely area.

The apartment looks lovely, had everything I was looking for except a terrace (oh well, we'll have our own terrace on the Amalfi coast!)

The location looked good on Google, and all the the reviews put my mind at ease that these 3 newbies in Rome will be well taken care of by the people that rent the apartment!

I had bookmarked the Apartment Orbetelli that Nancy suggested above, and some others on Via Guila. I agree with anyone still looking and checking this thread that Via Guila does look like a nice area.

If anyone else wants some ideas, I have quite a few bookmarked that I can put a link to on this thread!
