Is anyone familiar with Hotel St. Roch, Paris?
If so how is the hotel and its area? They're offering a good summer rate to us. Or are we better off at Muguet which seems really popular.

Thanks!!

I don't know the hotel in particular, but I do know the area quite well. The Rue St Roch connects the avenue de l'Opéra with the rue St Honoré. This is a chic, but quite lively area, and you'd be in easy walking distance of many of the main sights, including the Louvre which is a five-minute walk away. The major department stores (Printemps, Galeries Lafeyette) on Boulevard Haussman are not far, while in the other direction, the rue de Rivoli (and Samaritaine store) are also within easy walking distance. Rue St Honoré is well known for its designer boutiques so you might want to padlock your wallet!!!

Thanks to both of you! Good to hear that the area is nice. The rate is low but saw one small picture of a room so not sure about the hotel. Muguet seems alot better. Anyway, just trying to plan now for next summer. So still deciding.

Second the area vote. Stayed at Hotel Therese on Rue Therese which is very close to Hotel St Roch - definitely recommend it (stylish boutique hotel) but a bit more expensive (125 for small double, 160 for bigger double). A lot of these sort of hotels in 1st have smaller than average rooms. I definitely prefer area to around the Eiffel Tower.
If you do go there - check out a very small restaurant right next door to Hotel Therese - 3 courses for under euro15. For this area it was the easily the cheapest we could find -it was pretty good and great value for money. Nice friendly service. Extremely popular with middle aged gay men - may be a positive, may not be.
