Is anyone else shoveling snow today?

I spent two half-hour stints shoveling very heavy snow this morning. Definitely not fun, but I wanted to clear the walk and my two sets of steps for the mail carrier. I also shoveled most of my very long driveway. It was still snowing as I did this, so I was pretty damp by the time I finished.

It looked like about 3 to 4 inches of new snow.

I always rest for half an hour or an hour in between stints, but as I keep saying, I'm not the girl I once was, so I was worn out.. After a quick trip to the grocery store, I had a nap, but just before I slept I heard some good Samaritan out there with a snowblower. He cleaned all the sidewalks in the neighborhood, bless him.

After my lovely nap, I had a shower and put on clean dry clothes. Life is good.

I really kind of miss the lack of snow here in Chicago. We haven't had any since March 4 of last year but suspect there will be some kind of serious payback.

Hi Peg,

I live in nearby Sandpoint and I expect to be shoveling when I get home in about an hour. The snow finally has stopped coming down here but there is some very wet and heavy snow on the ground.

Yesterday the snow was dry and beautiful. A teenage girl knocked on my door and offered to shovel for whatever I wanted to pay her. That seems to never happen with kids any more, so I gave her $20 (too much) and she did a great job and was so happy. I was happy to over pay her. Maybe she'll stop by again tonight.

Shovel with care and stay safe!

Here on the coast of Mass. I am not shoveling, but trying to chip ice away from the last storm when we got rain, which turned to wet snow, followed by a sudden drop in temp. Yard and driveway are a sheet of ice, as are those of many neighbors.

No snow here! It is 8C here and grey. Supposed to get colder after tomorrow, but still little chance of snow I am glad to say. Some sunshine would be nice after weeks and weeks of iron grey skies though.

Your story is familiar, irishface. Here in NorCal, we still have all of the snow left from Christmas.........it's solid ice. It took a long time to break up the ice berm blocking my driveway that the snow plow left.
