OK - I can't find that fare. It isn't listed on the Deals & Offers page. Am I doing something wrong?

I picked up this information on Rudy Maxa's blog. So, I quickly went to the Delta web site, and all I found was the $227 fare with taxes and fees $303.27.

What's up?

Lots of discussion about this on Flyertalk.com - - seems to be the consensus that $227 is the only fare that anyone can find.

Actually, the discussion seems to be about how >B>atypical it is to have only $76 in taxes and fees - - suggests that this route (for this carrier?) has been the subject of a negotiated lower rate? for what reason? especially considering that this is (one of) the premier route(s) - - NYC-LON, that is... not specifically JFK-LGW - - under scrutiny since 8/10, and all the no-liquids nonsense (and I do mean nonsense - - see more, regarding my views on Flyertalk as well).

Most likely as good as it will get for transatlantic travel for the winter season. $199 fares used to appear like candy canes every December. I expect that this will be much more a rarity in the current marketplace.

Topping in case anyone missed this. One more week to purchase.

Continental is matching the fare on their EWR-LGW service for the same dates.

I'm not sure why the base fare is shown as $227 economy/$1027 business on delta.com and the taxes are so low, but the final cost of $303/$1141 including taxes is the same on both carriers.

I booked two $198 RT Delta tickets from JFK to London Gatwick. The economy fare breakdown is this: $198, $29 US tax = $227, plus more taxes and fees $76.61 for a total of $303.27.

Leaving New York on November 15th. Wow, I surprised myself...I have never booked an international flight without a lot of planning and discussion...the price was right.

Hmmm... Didn't UA recently announce withdrawal from JFK-LHR? Isn't this the route DL bought (but had to switch to LGW instead of LHR because of the landing rights)?

Does anyone know when UA JFK-LHR service ends?

Purchased tickets on Sunday for $227+tx. at $303 as mentioned. I agree with Rex, this is probably the best it's going to get and I got tired of waiting for British Airways to drop their prices.
Off to London in March!
