Big AA transatlantic fare sale!

Depart as late as April 2; return by May 2.

We haven't seen sub $400 fares (all taxes included) to this extent for a long time.

Best wishes,

Rex

On which route did you find fares less than $400 inclu tax?

When I chose the cheapest fares they advertised (thru your link), which is PHL-LHR, I get:

Departure fare: $168
Return fare: $167
Additional tax & fees: $152.30
Total Price $487.30

Perhaps Rex didn't realize $168 each way does not include the taxes and surcharges..? Even so, it's an excellent opportunity.

Well, shoot - - I'm sorry - - though the fares still might not be too bad for late spring. I was misled by the phrase "Fares include service fee" as I first read about the fares on travelzoo.com on a link that takes you to Orbitz where I fell for the come-on.

So, the fares as listed on Orbitz do include THEIR stupid service fee - - but not taxes and other required fees. Shame on them.

I figured that the deal was the same on aa.com and the details would be spelled out better.

Mea culpa.

That's okay, rex. I fly AA exclusively, so I was really hoping what you wrote was true. But, LHR/BOS r/t comes out to over $500, which is okay for March; but not good enough for me.

Many airlines are having big European sale now for spring.

On Continental, there are indeed sub $400 fare.

EWR-DUB is $351.50 all-in.

There may be others.

Continental has lowered its Spring fare some more. EWR-DUB/SNN is down to $298.80 all-in.

Thanks, rkk... though I can't get your URL, listed above, to work...

...but in an even more surprising set of sale fares, BusinessFirst fares are quite attractively reduced on these routes:

http://www.continental.com/web/en-US...nessfirst.aspx

Oddly, they are NOT good for the period of time we have planned our trip (we are traveling May 21-30) - - though we went ahead and oulled the trigger on fares that were fairly reasonable for fare class I (discounted buziness class) outbound, and T (discounted coach) on the return on AA - - for SDF-LHR return under $1700 all-in. Combined with a BA connector CDG-LHR of right around $100 (also all-in), seemed like a reasonable fare... and probably the best we were going to get. The very next day it was $450 higher.

Best wishes,

Rex

CO has run BF sale for summer and Thanksgiving and Christmas holidays for several years now. This year's fare is a little better than last year, though. But that's summer holiday time - you're going before that when there's still business to be done in May.

Anyways, for the link to the Spring economy fare, try this again:
