I'd go with the Meurice or the Ritz over the IC Paris...

Is that the Intercontinental next to the Opera House that closed for a couple years and re-opened last year to a lot of hoopla? It's supposed to now be nothing short of spectacular if that's the one you mean.

Intercontinental Paris is the one near to Concorde. The other one that's nicer is Le Grand Intercontinental.

I have stayed at the Paris Intercontinental on Rue de Castiglione near the Tulleries, not the Le Grand. The standard rooms are basic interconti room with no view. The superior room is identical except it has a view (ask for the Eiffel tower distant view). The business room is
a bit larger with a working desk & fax machine but same amenities. The lobby & public rooms however are a lot more impressive.

Ah yes, it is Le Grand Intercontinental I was thinking of. Saw quite an article on the restoration recently -- was that Architectural Digest??

The Flyertalk forum reported on some excellent discount upgrade specials for this hotel (I think if booked with an AMEX). Do a search there.
