Innsbruck to St. Wolfgang, car or train?

Innsbruck to St. Wolfgang, car or train?
Hello Fodorites, I need your help again.
We are traveling to Innsbruck, Austria for a 3 day stay then we will be going to St. Wolfgang. The question is how is the best way to get to St. Wolfgang, by car or train?
We could rent a car in Innsbruck and drive to St. Wolfgang, but we don’t know how long it would take or the quality of the roads between the two sites.
Or we could get a train in Innsbruck and get a car upon arrivial in Salzburg then drive to St. Wolfgang, but I am a little apprehensive about driving in an unknown city and we don’t know exactly where the car rental place is in relation to the train station.
Any ideas?
