Telc (word heritage town), Cheb (close to Germany border, think it is also a heritage site) and Karlovy Vary (rich spa town) - also Karlstein Castle is worth seeing - much of the interior is empty but the outside of the castle looks like a fairytale. Note: Its worth taking the horse and carriage ride to the top (about 2kms - the castle sits very high on a hill).

Chesky Krumlov - medieval town/castle. A World Heritage Site. Absolutely worth the visit. Spent whole day there and wish we had more time.

Cesky Krumlov, Telc, Cesky Raj area, Kutna Hora, Znojmo are fabulous towns. We, too, were there in May. Perfect time to go!

Zvikov and Orlik castles are fairytale like and much less visited.

Cesky Krumlov is something out of a fairy story. I wish I could by a summer home there. BEAUTIFUL!

I would recommend Kunta Hora, Cesky Krumlov, and Tabor. Each town has enough attractions to keep you busy for awhile. Telc was picturesque but there was not much to do in the town square. If time is short, Telc would not be worth an overnight stay.

Would anyone recommend one of these as a possible day trip from Prague using public transportation. We will be there in mid-October. THanks.
