Inexpensive Hotel in Sorrento

I am getting married in June 2007 in Sorrento, Italy. The ceremony is at the Hotel Bellevue Syrene. My fiance and I will be staying at this hotel despite the high room prices. Can anyone suggest a less expensive hotel (less than 250 Euro a night) around the area that some of our guests could stay at? I think a lot of the hotels with Sea views are going to be really expensive and we would like to give our guests other room options.

I have twice stayed at the Hotel Loreli in Sorrento and enjoyed it both times. The rooms are sparce but clean. The service is so-so but I had no complaints.

The views are astounding and the rate was $150 the last time we stayed about 14 months ago.

If you are talking dollars or talking euros 250 a night seems a bit steep. I went looking and found loads that are no where near that

This October, we're staying at the Il Nido Hotel. It has been highly recommended on this forum. The owner promptly answered all our e-mails and seems very nice. The restaurant was also considered good. I believe all rooms have seaview balconies. Our rate is 80 or 85 euros for 2 people per night. Check out their website. Happy wedding and honeymoon!

I considered two properties for our upcoming June trip:
1) Hotel Settimo Cielo (www.hotelsettimocielo.com )
Views across the Bay of Naples, pool, restaurant
2) Il Nido ( www.ilnido.it )
In the hills above Sorrento. Transport to and from town provided. Views out to Mt. Vesuvias. Restaurant said to be very good.
Both of these properties are reasonably priced. Take a look at the web sites. We have decided upon Il Nido. I will report back.
Congratulations!

Hi

Congratulations. Maybe try Savoia Hotel - http://www.savoia-hotel.com or Casa Chiaro di Luna - http://www.casachiarodiluna.it. Best value hotel with sea views may well be Settimocielo - http://www.hotelsettimocielo.com. 10 minutes by foot to the centre according to their website.

Good luck

www.aminta.it should be in that price range.

cmenoni - I don't think all rooms at Il Nido have seaviews and balconies. I booked 3 rooms in 2003 and could only get 2 of them with a sea view/balcony. I took the room without the view and it was 10E less per night than the other 2 rooms. My room had a side patio and I guess you could see a little of the sea, but not much.

My room also had a very large bathroom with bath tub while the other 2 rooms had the small shower stalls that Italy is famous for.

There is a covered balcony the length of the restaurant with fantastic views. The hotel roof is flat and you can sit up there.

apete143,

all of the suggestions here are good ones; I would recommend you do a check on alot of them.Although some of the hotels in the hills get good reviews, you might want your guests a bit closer to you.

But where I want to chime in here, is for the Bellevue Syrene. We just got back from there and it was FAB!!! you are going to LOVE it. See my trip report by clicking on my name( it so recent).

Simona Guida, who I am sure you have been dealing with, is just precious. Your wedding is going to be so spectacular so many, many congratulations and just soak in all the BS has to offer. A perfect spot to start your lives together.

Congrats!!!!!!
