Inexpensive clean hotel

And one last question. . .any recommendation for an inexpensive, quiet, clean hotel in the Kensington or Bayswater areas? There are so many to choose from it's hard to know which are "great finds" and which are not!

People are going to tell you that your post will be more noticeable if you had put the name of the city in the Title, as that is what people see before they decide to read posts.

Also, you really should say what your idea of inexpensive is. That is the key question.

There are lots in Kensington, so I'll give you one I've liked in Bayswater, as I like that location. It's the Mornington Hotel at 12 Lancaster Gate. It is nice because it's on a smaller road off Bayswater so it's not so noisy, but it's not very far so it's convenient to the park, and only about a block or two from Lancaster Gate tube stop. Also, the Airbus from Heathrow goes right by there so it's easy transportation to that. It's a 3* hotel in a small Victorian townhouse and very well-kept. It is really Swedish-owned, so sort of has modern Swedish style in the decor (and what they serve for breakfast). It's pretty reasonably priced compared to many, around 90-110 GBP for a double.

It might help if you said when you are going, also. I've used Londontown and got fairly good rates on a 4* in Kensington which I liked a lot (Millennium Bailey's) but I wouldn't call that hotel inexpensive. I wouldn't really call 100 GBP inexpensive, but for London, it's not bad.

I just stayed at the Park International on Cromwell Road, a couple of blocks up from the Gloucester Road tube stop. It, too, is a 3* made up of former townhouses. I got it on a Priceline bid for $139 a night, and breakfast was included which isn't usually the case with Priceline hotels. It was also available on lastminute.com.

It is a really convenient location. The room was fairly small but comfortable, and the bath had a combination tub and shower.

In that area I have always stayed at the Kensington Close. they often have some good deals. Rooms are a bit small but the location is prime. It is right near the Kensington High Street tube.

Christina, of course you are correct; I apologize. The city is London, and my husband and I are going to be there for 2 nights, Nov 6-7, enroute to India. Thanks for all suggestions; I will check them out.
