I always crave a big breakfast after I get home from a trip (since I often have that traveling and never do at home). As above, also jet lag messes up the time of day I get hungry, all kinds of odd hours.

Hey kopp - yummmmmmmm!
What country was the meringue mit glace from and how the heck did I miss it? Sounds wonderful!

enzian - I hope you have tried the Berthillion vanilla ice cream - it is the absolute best vanilla I have ever tasted. If it all was like that, I'd be a purist too!

After I got home from Paraguay I constantly ate for about a month.
I think it was emotional--I couldn't stand being back in the US after the trip. It was a community service trip and it changed my life. The eating was a way to fill the void in my life that I had had during my stay in a foreign country.
Plus, I was busy all day in Paraguay and when I got home, i wasn't so much.

It is so much nicer to be away from home and not have to worry about everyday cares, bills, the unpleasant people upstairs or across the street, etc.

I actually was really careful while on vacation! I mean, I ate would have a pastry some mornings, and Berthillon ice cream - but otherwise, I tried to eat healthy and not eat too much. I write down what I eat (and approximate calories) and allowed myself more for our trip, because of the walking - but we didn't have any buffets, thankfully!

Despite all the eating, I don't believe I've ever returned from a trip heavier than when I departed. In fact, I lost five pounds in three weeks on one trip to Spain, France and Switzerland. All that walking sure is good for a person!

I'm glad someone has properly identified what I'm suffering!

Vacation, exercise + extra food =
Post vacation blues + extra food =

I need another vacation before my clothes get too tight... one more reason to travel more!

Achtung! Next time you come over, buy a bottle of Kräuter Schnapps. It can cure anything.

This is my confession.

Even with the gas prices I will drive around the city to find a cheese/wine/salami I had in Italy.

And I am kinda stuck up now too!!

I love to say, I had this for the first time at a little cafe in Rome.... ect
