Funny - I was going to warn about the lights from the bateaux. We stayed on the Ile St. Louis a few years ago in a friend's apartment. I just love the neighborhood - it is perfectly located and utterly scenic!
But at night, the bateaux go by the Ile (very frequently), shining these incredibly bright lights at the various sights (including the Ile), and it was like daylight in our apartment. Luckily, our bedroom was in a windowless loft at the back of the apartment.
