(still deciding if to do one night in Milan and one night in Lake Como or if to do two nights in Milan with a day trip to Lake Como?
Sept 8-10 Switzerland, so far thinking Lucerne...any ideas or suggestions? I have reasonable accomodations(free) at the Holiday Express 17 Km from Luzern in CH-ROTHENBURG..is that too far..probably would need a car..a taxi to the train stationis 50CHF!What's driving like in Switzwerland?
Or I can stay in a Holiday inn Express 3Km form Geneva(free again)
Help!
Sept 11-One night in Germany-Cologne-Mulheim-4mi/6km from Cologne downtown(free again) or if htere is a better one stop on my way to Amsterdam..please let me know.

Hi Harvey...
Might be a while before I get back..35..just married..no kids yet! The pressure is on...I am planning this trip because I figure once we start having kids my travel days will be over for awhile. We also lucked into some free accomadations...because of a mess upon our honeymoon...3 nights at the Intercontinental Le Grande in Paris,
plus 2 nights at the Holiday Inn in Florence and finally 4 more nights anywhere as long as it is a Holiday Inn Express...or two nights anywhere at a regular Holiday Inn plus one more night at an express.
I know confusing..imagine planning all this!

If you had to pick Germany or Switzerland what do you think? Or should we just spend more time in Switzerland...basically, I have to get to Amsterdam by Septemebr 12th. And I can't change my Paris portion of the trip..so I have Sept 1-11 to play with.
Any ideas are welcomed!
