Ile de la Cite Information

We are renting an apartment on the Ile de la Cite near Notre Dame beginning this Saturday February 22. Does anyone have any advice regarding nearest bakeries and supermarkets? We will want to get some supplies and I have tried to look at Google maps but thought someone may have better advice.

Thanks for any info!

There are 3 bakeries and 2 small grocery stores on Ile St. Louis that we've been to many times. Probably a 5 min. walk from you.

Ile de la Cité is about the size of a postage stamp. Just take a short stroll.

Thanks guys. We have been staying at a friends apartment in the 15th , but her granddaughter is living there so we decided to rent. We knew that neighborhood well so this is a new experience for us. We can't wait though.

For everyday items like TP, soap, etc., look at the websites for the grocery chains Franprix (www.franprix.fr) and Carrefour (www.carrefour.fr) and "trouver votre magasin". Try entering the postal code --75004 -- and Rechercher. The site will have a map or a list of locations.

There used to be a tiny boulangerie at the north end of rue d'Arcole, the street that runs in front of Notre Dame. The baker would come running up from the basement with hot baguettes in the morning. I just looked at Google street view to get the name, and it has now changed to a branch of the much fancier Boulangerie Hure. The address is 1-5 rue d'Arcole.

I am with TPAY on what is on Isle St Louis.

I know that there is a Carrefour Express (corner of Bernardin and Blvd St Germain in the 5th---not far away) and a FranPrix at Franprix PARIS - 6-10 Rue de la Harpe – 75005 PARIS, which is close to the St Michel Metro station. Depends on if the 4th or 5th is closer for you.
