Is the RER line open again after St Michel?
blackduff, I said that about the Renoir at the Orangerie. It isn't a museum of just Monet, it's an Impressionist collection. There are quite a few Renoir, actually, which I remember because I don't like him. But there are other works by Matisse, Picasso, Modigliani, Soutine, and Derain, and others. Their website describes the collection if you want more details.

I mentioned about the Renoir, since I had seen your previous post. Actually I want to see what else might be there. I guess I should take the time to look it up but lazyness is in charge.
I do like the impressionists and I am a big fan of Renoir. Mostly I wanted to see if there were lots of other impressionists.
I went to the Orangerie many years ago and all was the lily ponds. Maybe there was some other less-known artists (sorry, other artists I didn't know)but there wasn't any Renoirs.
Possibly some of the Renoirs which were brought over from the Jeu de Paume (sp??).
I hope to return to Paris soon but for now it's just memories.

Too lazy and disorganized to write a real TR. However:
We stayed at the Central St. Germain. Paid about 170 euros/night.
Location excellent, near the Latin Quarter and Sorbonne, short walk to the Metro. If you stay there, be sure to ask for a twin 'inside' room (away from the street). For some reason, they charge the same for a much smaller double room. Decent but not great breakfast for an additional 11 euros/day.
Restaurants:
Le Christine (which I've seen others mention here). Intimate, good service, good food -- about 110 euros for two, with wine.
Balthazar, on Rue Des Ecoles: Similar to Le Christine, but less intimate and slightly lower quality food. Still not bad.
As a gift, someone gave us the dinner cruise on Bateaux Parisiens. Totally touristy, but the food and service turned out to be good, and the whole night was a lot of fun.
For lunch, we bought sandwiches and pastries at Paul and ate at the Tuilleries. Great. Otherwise, picked stuff as we strolled through the LQ.
Les Patios was a nice outdoor stop at the Place de la Sorbonne. Crowded with locals and students.
Took the train to Versailles. My advice would be to skip it and go to Luxembourg Gardens instead. The gardens and palace are much more manageable, not to mention easier to get to.
Yes, the weather will be the same next month. I also have it on good info that the Eiffel Tower will still be there.

I just got back too-- a week ago. I will recommend Le Gorille Blanc (right "behind" Le Bon Marche), Chez Lena et Mimile (Metro Monge), and Le Cameleon (Vavin) as "Best Buy" restos. My splurges this time were Auguste (a bit austere) and Ze Kitchen Galerie, where I always go on my first night in Paris. and which I always find interesting and wonderful.
