Ideas for NewYearsEve London Part 2
Hello, it's me again!
I've done my research on places that i like and now i'm more prepared to ask about NewYearsEve.
First of all we've changed hotels and we'll be staying at Portland Street W1.
WE've decided to book a table for dinner and drinks later on, and not wander in the streets.
The kind of place that we like (from photographs) is Mango Tree, E&O, Albannach etc. (i also like the kitsch feeling of Annex 3 although i don't know about my friends). Last year we went to Cocoon Bar which i loved the decor but NOT the food.
So, do you have any suggestions for us, but NOT FOR ASIAN FOOD please. We don't like it, very much (especially japanese) and we want to eat well that night!
(unfortunately the places that i like most have japanese menu)

OK, if you're staying at Portland St. you might want to find a place around Marylebone High, then head to Primrose Hill. (Just take 274 bus).
I think NYE fireworks are better enjoyed at a distance (hopefully somewhere elevated) than actually being near the Thames with all those crowds.

As for nearby restaurants, L'Entrecote or Le Relais de Venise for french steak-and-frites, Union Cafe is nice, I got mixed feelings about Fishworks and Providores (which has a nice tapa menu). Alternatively, Royal China on Baker St. On the cheap side, Woodland (veggie Indian, stick to dosas) or a few pubs--Golden Hind used to do good fish & chips though haven't been there for a while. Haven't had a chance to try the Conran restaurant also in Marylebone.

L'entrecote has had the worst reviews known to mankind (there's actually a thread on this somewhere). Also if you're going with a group remember there isn't a menu. You get a salad and a steak in sauce. There are no other choices.
I rather rate Fishworks, as the name suggests it's a seafood place.
