Ibis Porte De Clichy Hotel in Paris

Hi! Just wondering if anyone has stayed at the Ibis Porte De Clichy in Paris and what you thought. Too late now to change if it's really crappy (came as a package)but would like your input. Thanks!!

I don't know the exact location of this hotel but I doubt if it is convenient to many of the sights. Ibis is a chain of "inexpensive" hotels that in most cases are quite bare-bones. Small rooms, wall mounted t.v., small dresser, that type of thing. Stayed in one once (l night while in transit) that reminded me of a dorm room.

As far as Ibis go, that is one of their more upscale properties (for what that's worth) and should be okay in that regard. It has AC in some rooms, restaurants/bar, even an indoor pool (one of the few Parisian hotels that do). You'd think it would have to be a 3* with those amenities, but I've seen it only listed as a 2*, so there's something weird about it, if that's true. Of course, it's a huge modern chain hotel so of that style, and I'm not suggesting it is especially "nice" for what it is, because it is a modest hotel. I think it may be one of the largest hotels in Paris (700 rooms).

The location is crappy, way out in the NW on the very edge of the city, but it shuld be fairly near a metro stop by the same name, at least.

Maybe you knew all that and just wanted folks who'd stayed there -- I have not.

I stayed here a year ago. Location is not great and the rooms were really really cramped. A lot of tour groups stay here.

Stayed there a few years ago and would not go back. If you do stay out at night and take the metro back remember that the metro closes around 1am I think, and it is not the neighborhood you want to walk around in at night. be sure to memorize the metro stops. Otherwise Paris is great, so don't worry too much.
