I am a.tall foodie

My friend has a problem and I will paraphrase his dilemna: "I would like to cruise around Greece with my teenage daughter. My problem is: I am 6'6" and would like a longer bed, or sleep diagonal on a queen. (As a side note: I am so proud of my kid-volleyball champ with scholarship to.college this fall. We have taken one big trip each year since she was 8yo, so we have been able to work out the privacy issues with staying in one room with two beds years ago!). I know I am asking alot from you new travel friends, but I also LOVE to cook (but HATE to constantly diet-Lol). Is there any way we could do both? Sorry for ths trouble, but you know, this may be our last time together, as someday I may be the second man in her life."
Thanks for any insights you can provide me so I can assist him in having a great time! K

I have no idea really what you are asking . . . Do both what? Have two beds and cook? Or something else?

(You only mention Greece but tagged it for Germany?)

I think your problem is that you need a room with 2 beds but one of them must be a queen due to your height - and even them you must sleep diagonally. I sympathize since DH is 6'3" and we have to choose hotels carefully in europe to get a long enough bed. And often to have to ask for a king bed to get what we call a queen.

So I would search the hotel web sites for rooms good for 3 people (meaning 2 beds) and also having at least a queen bed. There probably won;t be a ton and you may be better off looking at american chains.

Not easy but I'm sure you can find things. Have no idea about the foodie issue. If you're just saying you don;t ant to eat to much you must know by now that portions are usually smaller in europe than in the US (but in Germany often not).

It sounds from the OP like he's not looking got a hotel, but for a cruise ship that can accommodate him. That may be difficult to find.

Also, he seems to want a cooking class or somewhere he can practice cooking, which seems unlikely on a cruise ship.

Missed the cruise - since he labeled the post Germany.

As for beds on a cruise ship - good luck with that.

Therea are lots of cruise ship packages that offer cooking classes. Try a google search for ones specific to Greece. Also try message boards like "Cruise Critic" to find out how they accommodate tall passengers.

Just be aware that the term "queen bed" has no international meaning. In fact, having had to check the difference, "a queen" in USA is generally "a king" in Europe.

This may even vary across Europe as we know the Dutch are the tallest European people so goodness knows what Romanians (on average some of the shortest following Ceaușescu's starving of his people) call a large bed.

This is a very strange, unclear post. Is "I would like to cruise around Greece" meaning a cruise ship, or "cruising" in the sense of cruising in a car? The sleeping arrangements if on a cruise need to be worked out with the cruise line if it's a sea trip, or a hotel/apartment if a land trip.

I don't get the cooking reference either. If it's a cruise or a hotel you can't cook, if it's an apartment what's the problem? It's what you buy that counts.

I don't think the OP is asking about a cruise (as in ship) at all. The questions seems to be about cooking facilities and large beds.
