we have been to brac hvar and vis as main destinations
we sailed ( well motored cos there was very little wind)
we went in june
i saw no lavender fields on hvar - we hired a scooter
the only lavender i saw was sold in bunches at the market
and some at the marina at split
vis is different- - more wild and woolly and of course has the beautiful blue grotto but if i had only one to choose id choose hvar
it has a lot of little villages
you definitely need a car or scooter
id be careful on the scooters ( we saw a girl come off one so you have to be fairly experienced
id get a car
you really need about three days to see hvar properly from end to end
i liked it
it was festive ( soccer madness at the marina that year)
we stayed on the yacht and it was magic to sit and eat dinner watching people strolling by
so many pretty coves and clifftop views
the water is incredibly blue- green
good luck with the lavender
even if you dont encounter any - it is still a beautiful experience
