How tough are they with carry-ons for intra European flights?

Budget airlines are usually very strict about both the size and the number of carry-ons. For many you are allowed ONE item - not one carry-on PLUS a personal item. And extra charges usually apply.
But you should understand that even full fare european airlines are often stricter then US airlines due to using different planes with smaller bins. I have flown back from Zurich several times on full fare airlines and have seen numerous people have to gate check a carry-on that would be legal in the US. (The limit in flights originating in europe is often 19", including wheels and handle, versus 22" for US airlines).
Frankly all of your carry-ons sound like they would be oversize on most airlines.

Wow.. you travel with a lot of stuff... I do 4 weeks with a 22 inch roll on ( which I sometimes check anyways) and my purse ( messenger style bag).
A back pack, and a duffle bag and a roll aboard??

slacker,
The bag in the photo would not work for Flybe or easyJet, not sure about Ryanair or others.
Just read the info on the websites, it's all spelled out and it does vary greatly among airlines so never assume unless you have money to burn.

you need to downsize both the amount of 'stuff' and the size of the bags you carry the 'stuff' in.
None of your bags are FlyBe-legal carry on sized.
I always travel w/ 1 carry-on sized bag + a medium sized handbag (not the two carry-on and one full sized bags you are talking about) . For most budget European airlines I have to leave space in the carry on for my handbag since only ONE bag of any sort is allowed. And on some I have to precheck the carryon because it is a bit too big.
So back to the drawing board for you.

The OP is certainly entitled to take as much stuff as wanted; it is that they are trying to get in all on the place for free that causes the ilk here. The OP has a similar thread about flying UA on the Air Travel board.
Trying to get free gate check is a bit cheeky, no?

I've heard that Ryanair is very strict at some airports, but they've never checked the dimensions of a bag either at Stansted or in Ancona, any of the times I've taken them. What they do in Ancona is rather annoying. They let people carry oversized bags on board, and then at a certain point they stop allowing any more carryon bags aboard even if they're not oversized.
Ryanair used to allow just one item to be carried aboard, but now they allow a small piece of luggage and one shopping-bag or similar-sized item.

Thanks for the help.
Yes, I take lots of stuff. No not trying to get free check ins. I am trying to take as much as I can with me though. I travel i the US mostly and they give no problems with my carryons.
Yes, back to the drawing board for Europe!
