How to reach Prime Meridian Line, Royal Observatory in Greenwich

If we go by DLR to Greenwich, which DLR should we take and which stop of the DLR should we get off to see the Prime Meridian Line, the Royal Observatory, Queen's House, the Maritime Museum. After getting off at the DLR stop how can we reach at the above-mentioned sites.

Get off at Cutty Sark and simply follow the signs (black signs on iron posts). It's an easy walk, but if you have problems getting around there is a bus.

The Queens House and Maritime Museum are all in the centre of Greenwich - the Observatory is on a hill just outside the town centre.

WE went a different way. We took a Thames river cruise starting just above the Westminister bridge and got off at Greenwich and walked to the observatory. That way we were able to see the Tower bridge, etc. along the way. I know this isn't what you were asking but it is an alternative.

Get off a Island Gardens for a grar view of Greenwich and then walk thru the foot tunnel under the Thames to the Cutty Sark (Is it boardable?). Easy to find everything.

If you think the walk is too much or you're claustrophopic take the DLR to Cutty Sark.

True, but we're talking about Cutty Sark DLR station - not the boat . . . .

Definitely talking about the ship not the DLR station

Agree though the best thing to do is get the DLR to Island Gardens, walk to the water's edge then take the foot tunnel under the Thames

The suggestions above are accurate, but the DLR and some tube lines have had several planned closures especially over weekends. I suggest you use the "plan your journey" section on tfl.gov.uk closer to the date of your visit.

The last couple of times i needed to go to greenwich on a saturday turned into real missions.

That means, Cutty Sark DLR station is not closed due to renovation. Do we have to walk a lot if we get off at Greenwich instead of Cutty Sark?

Cutty Sark DLR is not due to close for renovations - however the dlr line itself may be closed for engineering works (usually happens at the weekends)...so check the tfl website before you go (or ask at any underground station) to be sure.

No. But it’s further than from Cutty Sark

From the station, walk out into the forecourt and turn left into the road and keep going.

This will bring you out opposite the Picture House.

Turn left again and walk toward the mitre (a pub)

Turn left at the mitre and head towards St Alfage’s Church (huge you can’t miss it).

You are now in Greenwich town centre – near the market.

If you keep on past st Alfs you will come to the old Naval College etc which is where the Maritime Museum is.

About a 10 minute walk in total.

Motumotu, if you have a little time you might want to walk around Canary Wharf to view some of the artwork. This map will show the location of the art and some of the green areas.

http://www.fieldartprojects.com/docs.../Art%20Map.pdf

On one of our trips to Greenwich we took the bus back. Came through some grungy sections but it's the kind of thing we like to do if we have time.

Sorry for any confusion over the Cutty Sark, the ship, and Cutty Sark, the DLR station.
