How to get to the Val Verzasca
I've decided I really would like to see this valley, but I'm running into a problem finding out how to get there. There are two tour options, neither of which I'm able to take. How do you get to Val Verzasca from Lugano if going solo with no vehicle?

Lugano 8.57 train to Bellinzona 9.23
Bellinzona 9.38 train to Tenero (direction Locarno) 9.53
Tenero 10.25 bus to Sonogno 11.22
Back:
Sonogno 3.00 pm bus to Tenero 3.47
Tenero 4.03 train to Giubiasco 4.15
Giubiasco 4.21 train to Lugano 4.48
Or go all the way to Bellinzona instead of getting off in Giubiasco and visit this charming town and hop on a train to Lugano later.

Thank you, Ingo!!
I tried putting in Verzasca as the destination and of course the rail/travel itenerary had no idea where I wanted to go.
So this route will get me to that neat bridge and the town with all-stone buildings and the scenery?

Yes, that's correct. Sonogno is the very last village in that valley, the famous bridge is in Lavertezzo, half way to Sonogno in the valley. No need to go all the way to Sonogno (although it is beautiful) - you can get off the bus in Lavertezzo and after exploring there do the short hike up to Corippo, a VERY picturesque village, and then back down. Or you hop on the next bus to Sonogno after exploring Lavertezzo.
Btw, at the entrance of the valley you will see the dam where a James Bond movie was filmed.
Have fun!
