Just looked on the Hotel Dante website it actually tells you which bus to take to get to them, I think it says( I was reading the french site) to take the shuttle to terminal 1 and then get the number 23 bus to town, double check that as my french is most basic.

The airport is only about 5 miles from downtown Nice so save yourself some money and take the bus. Transportation other than taxis is a bargain in Nice.

The last time I took the taxi from the airport to the train station, the cost was 35€. Now I always use the direct bus(4€)unless I have an early flight.

Follow Micheline's advice and take bus #98. According to the Nice airport site, a taxi to the center of Nice will cost €22-€30. Based on scatcat's experience, it looks like you'll pay even more than that.

<<<<<<<<You could fly direct on EasyJet from ORLY at different times but is transferring over there worth it?

I've done it, and made it REALLY worthwhile by leaving the bags at Gare du Nord for most of the day and enjoying Paris before continuing on to the other airport to catch the flight.
