how to get to nice from charles de gaulle airport?

I'm flying to charles de gaulle airport (CDG) on thursday 8/11/2012 and I want to go to Nice. I found train tickets from http://www.eurorailways.com/ and it seems that the train station is at Gare de Lyon, they told me to get RER B but the RER B is not direct to that train station, I'm confused, pls help me... and do you know how much this gonna cost and what time should i get the train? i'm arriving at 12:00 pm at CDG and there is a train at 13:45 and 17:42.

Thanks in advance

p.s. as soon as possible please!!!

There are trains that leave from CDG and go directly to the south of France, by-passing Paris. You would have to change in Marseille. The last one to do that leaves at 13:58. You can find the full schedule on www.sncf.com

You could fly on Easyjet, I saw some prices for end of november ( I just entered random dates) for as low as 39 euros). They fly from CDG and the flight will be about 1.5 hours long. Since you are already at airport thats what I would do.
Thats what I would do.

Train from Paris to Nice was 5 hrs and 40 minutes by train. We managed to get first class tickets really cheap ( 40 euros) but have to say the last hour or so seemed like "are we there yet"

Also if you do take the train, BRING food, pick something up from airport, food offering on trains are not great. Even a sandwich from an airport stand will be appricieated.

Well, you're going to pay top price, having waited this long to make this purchase. And if you buy through Eurrail you'll pay a premium. And you don't need to go to the Gare de Lyon; you can get on a train right at the airport. If you go to www.sncf.com or www.tgv-europe.com you'll see that there is a train at 13:58 that costs 131 euros, with one change, and one direct one at 16:49 that costs 122 euros. Both of these leave from the SNCF gare at CDG airport (terminal 2). The earlier one takes 7 hours, 12 minutes; the later one takes 5 hours 41 minutes.

I'd look into getting a cheap flight.

You could fly on Air France with a change in Lyon for about $355. I think you may need to go by rail afterall.

If you take the Easyjet flight at 430 you will still arrive in Nice sooner then if you take the trian . Do the numbers. The airport in Nice is only like 20 minutes from town, and the fare is 4 euros.

But as noted, you have left it last minute so nothing is going to be a "great deal"

I think of the OP is arriving at CDG early in the AM then waiting until 4:30 PM to fly out would be a PITA but to each their own.

Well Dukey, I actually read the OPs post, and they are not arriving early in the morning now are they? Reading, a wonderful thing. I read they were arriving at noon. So then they have to deboard the plane, go through immigration and get their luggage . At this point it is minimmally 1 or 1.30, so now, they can wait 3 hours for an 1.5 hour flight, so total of 4.5 hours, or they can take the train, which if they get the 13.58 train , they will then be on the train for 5 hours and 50 minutes.. almost six hours. And having taken the train to Nice, its a long day.. especially after a 8 hour or more flight on same day.

guys thank you all for your help really...! I search a little bit more for the prices and I found a direct flight with easyjet 105 euro and I booked.. It costs the same with the train but it's only 1 and half hour flight..so i think it was the best choice I had.. I'm from Cyprus, I've been in Paris many times before but never had to use trains etc..and I couldn't find cheap flight direct to Nice so I had to go through CDG..
I'm leaving from France on the 12th Monday, I have to be at CDG 1 pm the latest because my flight is at 2:45. Shall I take airticket from easyjet again direct from Nice to CDG? The airticket is 137.
Thank you again!

Yes, fly Nice-CDG on easyJet. Depart at 09:45 and arrive at 10:45. I found a fare of €114.99 for 12 November.

I just want to remind you to make sure you print out your Easyjet boarding pass because the fee is very high. Also carefully read the luggage specs.

Correction: Leave Nice at 09:05, not 09:45.

There is a public bus that runs between Nice and airport it cost 4 euros( this summer anyways) , we took a taxi into Nice but driver couldn't get us too close to our hotel ( busy pedestrain area) so as I recall it cost about 15 euros, and a walk of about a block. On way back to airport we decided to just walk to bus stop in front of the McDonalds on the main drag ( Promenade!) and take the bus as recommended by our hotel .Was fine, its not a long ride( 20 mins max) , but it was crowded( this was in July note) so some people had to stand. The bus stops at all the terminals so don't jump off the bus at first stop at airport unless you are sure that is your terminal, some people do then then have to wait for next bus or a longish walk on road that appeared to have no sidewalk to get to other terminal.
