How to get from Colosseum to Trastevere in Rome?
Hi! Our Colosseum tour will end at 12:30pm Saturday, which gives us an hour and a half to make our 2:00pm lunch reservation in Trastevere. I know there are trams and buses - can anyone help with directions? Google Maps is letting me down on this one! Thanks!

#3 tram looks like the best way - goes right from the Colosseum to Trastevere.

It takes a while to figure out the system - I try to find bus route numbers and trace them along a route to see where they go.

You can also take the 87 from in front of the Colosseo metro station to Largo Argentina. Cross the street and then take the #8 tram. The 8 and 3 meet up in Trastevere. The 3 is best, but this gives you another option.

It's likely less than two miles to the restaurant. I'd walk (more like a stroll over 90 minutes) and see the Circus Maximus along the way.

Keep in mind that the #3 "tram" is sometimes a bus (at least it was when we rode it last year-- I don't know if it was a temporary or permanent change).

You can just walk. I stayed in Trastevere last time I was in Rome and we covered pretty much all the sites on foot. This was a few years ago, but I don't remember it taking a substantial amount of time. Maybe 30 minutes or so?

Thanks, y'all! We're travelling with a 6-year-old and a senior, so we're trying to avoid unnecessary walking.

Then I would just take a taxi. Although we've never had a problem, you need to be alert to pickpockets on the buses, and it sounds like you could be distracted.
