How to find airplane tickets?
I'm planning a trip from Bulgaria to Belgium (from Sofia to Brussels to be more specific) this summer and I want to stop for a couple of days in Paris and Amsterdam on the way. I've already taken care of accomodation and right now I'm looking for airplane tickets. Can anyone recommend a website that I can use, which is safe and has an easy-to-use search engine???

I like to use www.expedia.co.uk, www.ebookers.com and www.katak.com. They usualy have good fares and give you many options. Good luck.

You won't see most LCCs (low cost carriers) on sites like Expedia etc.
Try www.wizzair.com for cheap flights from Bulgaria.

Great advice Gardyloo! Even if Aver isn't looking to specifically travel on budget airlines, there are many point to point flights flown by these airlines that won't show up on expedia. Many of these 'odd' routes arent served non-stop by the traditional/national carriers, so you may be shopping blind if you don't expand the search horizon.
If you want to be informed of lots of flight options, www.whichbudget.com is a great resource, regardless of your budget.

Sorry you found my post critical, Tere. Certainly no offense intended. You had already suggested a couple; I added one more, then kybourbon added whichbudget.com (which is where one can see, for instance, that Wizz and Condor offer services from SOF to AMS, BRU or PAR, which is where the OP is going.) On Wizzair, for instance, one can see fares in the €100 range depending on dates and transfer points. On Kayak the cheapest that comes up is SOF-AMS via MXP and FCO, for around €250 on Alitalia. That's because the low cost carriers don't pay the GDSs (global distribution systems - Sabre, Amadeus, etc.) to display their flights, so the Expedias and Kayaks can't see them.

Well you posted some good options, but I can't help to add one more
www.lessno.com
It is easy to search and has all the flights that expedia provides. I've used it a couple of times and had no problems with it.
The reason I recommend it is its multi-city search page. You can specify all 4 cities at once, specify the order you will visit them and then get all flights at once

Thanks to a post I read here a couple days ago, I have a new favorite:
http://www.itasoftware.com/
Its weakness, however, is that it doesn't seem to list the cheap airlines. But it does everything else in amazing detail. It even tells me all of the taxes I am paying on my ticket. Netherlands Noise Isolation Fee 5.46 Euros?
