Mostly Caribbean since I grew up in Miami...which can almost count as a country now!

Canada, Spain, St. Thomas, St. John, Virgin Gorda, Jamaica, Grand Cayman Island, Puerto Rico, and Andros Island. Adding Italy this spring.

Besides the US 29: Canada, Mexico. England, Denmark, Germany, Netherlands, Belgium, Luxembourg, France, Monaco, Portugal, Spain, Italy, Vatican City, Ireland, Scotland, Wales, Norway, Sweden, Finland, Switzerland, Austria, Czech Republic, Hungary, Poland, Russia, Lichtenstein, Egypt and Turkey.

So far. Obviously I still have a lot left to go.

One of my closest friends is a real traveler (versus a tourist, which is what I consider myself) and she's been to over 100.

Let's see, UK (Scotland, Wales, N. I make that 46, (or 49 if you count the UK countries separately) plus Vatican City, some Caribbean islands so long ago I'm not sure which ones, train trips across Bulgaria and Latvia, and one night between planes in Japan. Most of this is 1997 onwards.

Interesting question - never stopped to think about it. I grew up in Africa and now live in Australia. I quickly counted up 31 countries in UK, Europe, Nth America, Africa, Asia and Sth Pacific. I've been travelling with my parents (initially in Africa) since about the age of 9. I've seen more than I realised!!

Good thing to itemize so that I don't forget (and I do have a brief journal of each trip that I could review, but from the top of my head)

Born in 1977... it was quite a few years before I really started to travel, though. =)

However, I have been to 12 countries. Going to Ireland in March and that will be 13. A few have been brief stops or one day visits, however.

I'm at 27 now and our eight-year-old son is up to 15. Living in Europe certainly makes it easier to fill out the list - lunch in Liechtenstein anyone? We each have a Word document and just add to it whenever we visit a new country. Our one dilemma has been what to do with countries that have changed name/configuration, i.e. Yugoslavia, as I was there in 1984 and again in 2004

New Zealand, Fiji, Papua New Guinea, Hong Kong, Singapore, Thailand, Italy, Spain, Luxembourg, Netherlands, France, Germany, Austria, and USA. I have lived in U.K., Ireland and Australia.

Does Hawaii count as a country?
UK (NI, Scotland, Wales, England, Isle of Man),Ireland, France (incl Monaco), Italy (incl Vatican), Spain, Portugal, Belgium, Holland, Denmark, Norway, Sweden, Finland, Germany (W &amp; E the 1st time + Berlin as a strange anomaly), Austria, Switzerland, Iceland. Canada, USA, Brazil, Paraguay, Argentina. Turks &amp; Caicos, Bermuda. Cyprus, Greece (just), Kenya.
Singapore. (27 to 32 depending upon how we count)

My vote - Vatacan City should count as a country - Monaco should not.

Fortunately since the old 2004 thread I can claim a few more countries. I went to Sweden, Norway, Denmark, mainland China in 2005. Last year I went to Turkey. I was also in Australia a few weeks ago.

So this brings the tally up to about 23-24.

Let me think... Canada, Russia, Finland, France, Switzerland, Ukraine, Latvia, Korea, Japan, Costa Rica, Ireland... my problem is that I keep returning to these same places! 11 countries for me.

In my twenty years of travel, I have been to: Australia, New Zealand, Indonesia, Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand, Cambodia, Vietnam, China, Japan, Taiwan, India, Sri Lanka, Eygpt, Dubai, Omen, Kenya, South Africa, Morocco, Spain, Portugal, France, Monaco,Belgium, Netherland, Germany, Austria, Switzerland, Czech Republic, Poland, Hungary, Croatia, Bosnia, Latvia, Italy, Greece, Turkey, England, Wales, Scotland, Denmark, Sweden, Iceland, Peru, Argentina, Chile, Brazil, Canada and USA.

Some of the countries above I have visited more than once, European countries, USA, Australia, China, Thailand and Malaysia.

Estonia and Russia this year.

Gosh, people, it really is impressive. Noting that there are only 193 countries in the world (including Vatican), anything more than 15 is pretty impressive to me. Almost makes me feel sad for resigning from my last job six years back (too much travel!) that guaranteed an overseas trip every other month.... Not!

For what it is worth, I have been to nearly ten countries. This is also affected by the fact that I live in the U.S. so NY to NJ travel is not exactly a new country.

Not nearly as many as I want to!
