How many countries have you been to?

Thanks to a dear friend, I tapped into this forum 3-4 weeks back for a EU trip later this year and, find it amazing in many regards (very well traveled, helpful people... well with the rare, slightly snippy posters).

I am generally curious how many countries has the typical poster been to, and over how many years? Lest I embarrass myself (just kidding), let me save my own response till I hear from some of you.

1988, 13 countries...I'm claiming Monaco as a country, not claiming Vatican.

My tally (~26) has not changed since that 2004 thread. That is so sad.

Very impressive so far.

Consider writing the names of the countries unless you don't want to which is fine.

My 7th grade son will be hitting country #17 when we go to Spain in March. And we are the SlowTrav travellers, not the 7 countries in 7 days tourists. Us parents have about 10 countries on top of our kids, mostly 3rd world countries.

Hi,
Canada, Mexico, Switzerland, Lichtenstein, Austria, Germany, Italy (Sud Tirol). The last three a few times. Whenever we plan something different, we think, this my be our last trip (you never know) and wind up going back. Of course there's the fact that we really enjoy the time we spend in these area's.
