how far is Gare Nord to Gare Lyon
I need help! My daugther is arriving in Paris, Gare Nord from London and needs to get to Avigon leaving from Gare Lyon. How far apart are they and how much time will she need to get from one to the other?

Both are on the Right Bank and I guess I would give it 20 minutes by taxi, depending on traffic (could be less). She can also take the RER (or the metro, for that matter), but that can be a drag if she's dealing with much luggage at a busy time of the day.

Depends on how nimble she is with luggage and such. There is a direct RER line D (the suburban train system that - within central Paris - is an alternative to the metro at the same fare), it takes 8 minutes station to station.
The Eurostar pulls in on the opposite side of all the platforms to where the RER leaves from - she'll walk to the head of all the platforms, turn left and walk past all the platform entrances to the other side.
She'll take RER D (direction Melun).
Either that, or a taxi - fare and time will depend on time of day, of course.
