How far is Brescia to Milan? Need asap
Hi All,

Thanks for the ideas of places to go for a day in Milan. I am trying to find out how far brescia is from Milan as apparently that is where our hotel is and I only have the morning up to 2pm to meet a someone in Milan. I was thinking of taking a taxi back to the airport from Milan directly to get more time and have my partner meet me with the bags at the airport from his meeting. Is this viable. I don't have a word of Italian and would like to plan it in advance in case I come into any problems.

Thanks for the previous help!

I am starting to wonder if it is worth going into Milan at all as I have to be at Bergamo airport to make a 16:50 flight. I am worried I will not make it back to Brescia in time.

Anyone have info on Brescia?

I dropped someone off at the Brescia airport once, and it is quite in the middle of nowhere.

At first, I thought that the advice from Steve James was "spot on" and that Alice was "way off" with her suggestion that you rent a car. But I'm more unclear than ever where you are trying to be, how quickly. You might have to rent a car.

I never went into Brescia itself. I'm guessing that it would be less than 15 minutes by taxi from any hotel in Brescia to the VBS airport (but will you even need to go there?)

To Bergamo will be over an hour (I think), though it is well east (Northeast, actually) of Milan - - and Brescia is west of Verona. Take a look at www.viamichelin.com or www.mappy.com to get driving distance estimates and times.

Best wishes,

Rex
[email protected]
I went to Brescia last november and thought it a dreadful place, very light industrial city, unattractive city centre and non too desirable. Sorry to say this but if you have the chance to spend more time elsewhere I would go for that and have as little time as needed in Brescia. You can take a bus to Lake Garda from there and have a few hours in Desenzano or Sirmione.

Siobhan - The best way to do it would be to meet your partner at Bergamo airport (as you would waste time going back to Brescia). But it's quite doable.

There are fast trains every 20 mins from Brescia to Milan Centrale e.g.
07.28
07.41
08.04
08.21

Journey time on these is 45-60 mins, so you be in Milan by 8.30 to 09.05.

For other times see
www.trenitalia.it

MILAN - BERGAMO AIRPORT

From MILAN you can get to BERGAMO in 50-55 mins by train.

From BERGAMO BUS STATION (near the railway station) there is a shuttle bus (operator - ZANI) every 30 mins to Bergamo Airport.
Journey time is only 10 mins.

There are Milan-Bergamo trains leaving Milano Centrale at:
13.20 ... arr. Bergamo 14.16
14.20 ... arr. Bergamo 15.10

(The first would be safer)

From Bergamo bus station there are airport shuttle buses leaving at:
14.30
15.00
15.30

Here's the website:
http://www.sacbo.it/inglese/homepage.htm

You are a star! Thanks for all the info. I will give Brescia a miss as anything on the web does not look too promising. We have to stay there for my other half's business dinner is the night before in Brescia but I will get up early and go to Milan. I am a bit annoyed with myself that I have no Italian and hope it will be easy to get around. I can get by in most languages but I only know food names in Italian!

Thanks again
