cadwex: Wouldn't advise it. You sit low in the craft which obstructs views and the banks of the river are often high, again obstructing views.
It is a wonderful train ride through beautiful country side. It is even a more wonderful drive (IMHO) which would give you opportunities to stop at Sentendre, Sopron, Melk, etc.

cadwex, We hired Bela Lukacs to drive us from Budapest to Vienna, door to door. He charged $125 US (I believe he now charges $135). It's more convenient and easier than taking the train.
