Hotels on the Ile St.-Louis
I've been reading mixed reviews about hotels on the Ile Saint Louis. Has anyone enjoyed their stay on the Ile recently? We're planning to be in Paris over the Thanksgiving holiday. We want to be centrally located and we love the area and the restaurants on the Ile. Thanks for your input.

Gourmand - I visited Paris in May and stayed on Ile St Louis. I actually rented an apartment from http://www.guestapartment.fr/ - they were extremely nice to work work with. It was a bit of a splurge but I love the Ile - shops, restaurants and peple watching - but quiet at night. I used my small balcony to watch tourists go by on the bateux at night (...like I was a local!) Personally I loved it! - Barbara

We stayed in a lovely little hotel on the left bank---right at the river across from the Iles. Notre Dame & Ile St. Louis are right out the front door & across Pont Archveche. We strolled the Iles every night when we stayed there. It's a wonderful location, but without the price tag that comes with staying on the Iles: 158 Euro for a dounle.
HOTEL DE NOTRE DAME, Rue Maitre Albert:

Karen Brown's write-up on the hotel:

Lastly, here's a picture of the little street the hotel is on. Those trees & lightposts at the end of the street...that's the river. Perfect.

You know when you are moving and you have to throw things out, how you find the craziest things that you don't know why you kept them?
Well, tonight, cleaning out drawers, I found these lists of prices from the Lutece, the Jeu de Paume and the Saint Honore..The Jeu de Paume was ( a double was $179, a really cool room called a duplex was $239 and breakfast was $16-..This was at least 5 years ago! The Lutece was about $172 , the Danube was $160 and the Deux Illes was $168- The St Honore was $260-
I know the room we stay in at the Angleterre is over $230 now.
It was nice when they had the Franc, it was fun to divide by 5 or 7 and feel like you got a bargain
Hope this helps~
