Hotels in Taormina

Has anyone stayed in the Hotel Elios or Hotel Condor in Taormina? Both of those hotels have rooms available for the nights we'll be there. I haven't seen any posts about either and would like to hear from people who stayed there.
Thanks!

We stayed at Hotel Elios in October 2006. It is a simple place but we had a nice, large room with a small balcony and a view of the sea. There is a roof terrace with a view of Mt. Etna on a "viewable" day. We paid 70 euros. Walking distance to the centre of town and an excellent restaurant down the road from the hotel, Il Giardino. Mr. Elios is a friendly man, a bit deaf but with quite good English, and he will assist you with car parking if you have a car.

Hi, spinch -

I had a great experience at the Hotel Condor. It has a lovely rooftop terrace with wonderful views, but not of Mt. Etna. Have you checked tripadvisor for reviews?

We stayed at a delightful hotel called the Hotel Victoria which is right on the main drag of the city and close to shopping, restaurants and the Greek Theatre for walking. It was very reasonable two years ago and got good reviews on Tripadvisor.

I spent a lot of time on Tripadvisor yesterday, but thought I would see what the Fodorites had to say. Thanks for your suggestions- I'll definitely check out Hotel Victoria.

Well, Hotel Victoria doesn't have any rooms for the dates we will be there. I guess I'll keep looking.
