www.booking.com/city/dk/copenhagen.en.html
all options with honest reviews
Nimb over by Tivoli is best not cheap
Good previous experience at Crowne Plaza also ihg.com
60000 points with their CC now to compete with Marriott.
I got both good Visa CC no foreign fees now have 130000 points
good for many free stays if I am careful this year.

If you are looking for a deal, then I would suggest first trying for the Marriott on Priceline. It looks like you can get a room there with a bid of maybe $100 to $125 per night (bid for a 4* in Copenhagen (not the airport!) and it should be the only 4*, but no guarantees). You will not find a better deal in Copenhagen. The only downside to the Marriott is a slightly out of the way location, but it really isn't that much more out of the way than the Mayfair and is a significantly better hotel.
If you don't want to go with the Marriott, then I'd recommend looking at the Admiral if the budget allows, or maybe the Skt Petri.
Regarding the Mayfair... It looks okay, but the location is not my favorite. That side of the train station is less desirable and is really best located for Tivoli, which isn't open in March. The only real plus to that area is the abundance of ethnic restaurants, many of them pretty good. Personally, I would target the area closer to Kongens Nytorv - the Hotel Opera, the Strand Hotel, and Hotel Phoenix are all in good locations and might be comparable in price to the Mayfair(I have NOT stayed in any of the hotels, just commenting on location). The Hotel 27 is popular - on a nice side street near the Strøget.

Look at the Ad iral and Square hotels in Nyhaven area."
I stayed at The Square Hotel, in 2009, and it wasn't in Nyhavn. It's a 5-minute walk from Hovedbanegård (the main train station). I wasn't impressed with the hotel at all and thought it was way overpriced for what I got.
I had a room that was smaller than my room back when I lived in the kollegium in Copenhagen. The hotel room had a twin bed, pushed against the wall. Beyond claustrophobic. And, in the bathroom, the shower continued to overflow onto the bathroom floor. It was never fixed. I should have just stayed with friends, but I wanted to try my first Copenhagen hotel. Next time I'll stay with friends since I no longer do 11-week stays there where I have my own place.
I picked the Square Hotel mainly for location as it's a 5-minute walk from my bank and I needed to take care of some banking business. Happy Travels!
