Hotels for a Honeymoon in London & Paris
I will be going to London and Paris for my honeymoon in September. Can anyone suggest nice hotels for both London and Paris. More I do research on the hotels, more confused I get. My budget is $300-400 per night and I prefer a modern contemporary style hotel. Has anyone tried Priceline for hotels in either London or Paris?
Thanks.
Thanks.

Priceline us great for London - not so much for Paris. As you probably know you can't choose the hotel so wouldn't know they style until after your bid is accepted.
But since Paris hotels tend to cost less than London for the same quality - I'd probably go PL for London and splurge in Paris.

I think it's safe to say that with bidding 4* on Priceline for London, you are most likely to get a pleasant, modern business-style hotel. You are unlikely to get either a very hip, contemporary hotel or a hotel that exudes Edwardian grandeur, although there might be small elements of either in the "winning" hotel.

Londowntown is a great site - but you won't get rates anywhere near PL. For a honeymoon, I'd probably bid for a 5 star in London - there are a lot more 4 stars, but many are basically business type properties.

The problem I see with London 5* hotels on Priceline is that several of them aren't particularly well-reviewed, so the "benefit" of getting a better room in exchange for a higher price doesn't necessarily seem to apply in this instance, when compared to bidding for 4* hotels.

For a honeymoon, it might be worth considering a bid on a 4* Superior (not a 4*) hotel in Paris. Look at what has shown up in that category so far, and the reviews for these hotels. But of course compare it to what you are willing to pay conventionally.
