hotels at Rome's Fiumicino aiport

Hello,
I have a very early flight when I leave Rome. Can anyone recommend a convenient hotel? Grazie.

The Hilton is right IN the airport so it is very convenient. I will be staying there this week and will let you know; I expect it will be jsut like any other Hilton. I got a room for 160 Euros as long as I paid in advance, 190 Euros otherwise.

Regards Ger

Ger, I will be very interested in your Hilton experience. We actually are staying there out first night due to a late arrival (we are picking up friends at airport the next day and driving to Spello - frequent flyer deal got us in so late). Have a great trip.

Now you're scaring me. We arrive on a Friday night, pick up the car Saturday and drive to....Palazzo Bocci in Spello. Ok, our next stop after that is Palazzo DelCapitano in San Quirico d'Orcia. How about you? Where else our you going on your trip?

We stayed at this Hilton last September. It is by far the nicest Hilton I have seen. Seemed more like a Westin or Hyatt. Restaurant and bar very expensive. You can't beat the location, it is technically not connected to the airport but is only about a 100 yard covered walk to reach the enclosed airport walkway.

I am just staying two nights in Umbria at the Bocci and then on to the UK for business. I'll be sure to write a trip report when I return.

regards Ger

Ger, I'll look forward to it. I have printed out a Mappy and Via Michelin road map for the drive from the airport to Spello. It will be interesting to see if it comes close to what you experience. Have fun.
