Hotel Violet, Paris

Has anyone stayed at this hotel located in the 1st district? How are the rooms and location?

Location is terrific. Near Chatelet theatre. Several small hotels in same area. Don't know about rooms at Violet but compare internet pictures (if you can get them) and rates with Hotel Britannique and Hotel Grand Champagne, the others in that vicinity. I know the other two to be great small hotels in that area, so unless you come up with info showing the Violet to be substantially cuter or cheaper, select one of the other two, both highly recommendable.

Thank you Julie for the information. I saw pictures of Hotel Violet and the rooms look pretty basic (TV on the wall also). The Britannique and Grand Champagne hotels look much more charming but their rates are out of our range. Violet is much much cheaper but I guess charm is sacrificed for a lower rate.

Any other comments would be appreciated.

From the outside it looked fine. Not to worry about hotel rooms in Paris. If it's clean, location is more important than amenities and the location of the Violet near the Chatelet (main) metro station is wonderful. Besides in Paris you don't spend much time in your hotel anyway. Enjoy the city.
