Hotel suggestions in Milan?
I am going to be in Milan for 2 nights in May. Does anyone have any suggestions for a moderately priced hotel ($100 or so) in an area central to shopping etc.? There will be 4 in our group so we will probably get 2 rooms. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

We stayed at the Hotel Sanpi with our family of four. The hotel was very nice, modern, the room was excellent (queen plus two twins)..breakfast buffet was great. It's not on a very touristy street, but a couple blocks away was the metro station and two metro stops, we were at the Duomo.

I seem to recall we paid appox. $200 per night last year.

My husband and I are staying at the Antica Locanda Dei Mercanti in May, it looks nice and is close to your price range.
http://www.locanda.it/home.htm

I am currently in Milan and would recommend Residence Arcobaleno - see www.atahotels.it - English section, then Residences, then Arcobaleno. Rooms, actually apartments, are large very clean and well appointed. Price is Euro 110 per day for 2 persons and this includes all taxes plus breakfast. Centre i.e. Duomo is only 10/15 minutes away by frequent tram service just 200 yards from Residence door. In terms of price/quality you will not beat it.
Ian
