Hotel shopping in Venice

By shopping I mean I am looking for a hotel in Venice for April for the night before our cruise. I have checked out the Acca Hotel as suggested by a poster. Does anyone have any thoughts on this. It is really inexpensive. I have also looked at the Hotel Riva, the Locando Orselo, , Hotel Doni, Hotel Bernardi, and Il Giardino. Trip advisor has good things to say about each. We need convenience as well as reasonably price. Thanks.

Of your list I've stayed at Hotel Bernardi (Semenzato). It was a good location, and we had good service, a good stay, and enjoyed the breakfast there.

However, I've read reviews from people saying the exact opposite of the above---this was puzzling to me because I had a good stay there.

During my stay, it was slow season (November) and there was acqua alta. Our room was slightly damp, but that was attributable to the weather.

I like www.lacalcina.com

I have no idea if that is convenient in relation to your cruises though.

We stayed at Ca Fomenta 3 yrs. ago & thoroughly enjoyed it - very reasonbly priced then. It's located right where the lagoon and the grand canal intersect.

3 of us are staying at the Hotel Orion. A triple room is costing us e180 a night (cash). It is located behind St. Mark's square....so I'm not sure about the location for you. I've never stayed there before but they have been very easy to communicate with. www.hotelorion.it
